Ebony East Tricycle

Lions presented Ebony East with a mobility tricycle to help her get
around easier. The presentation was performed at the Latrobe High School
much to the surprise and joy of not only Ebony but her mother as well.
This is the reason many of join Lions.

Gangster's and Molls Evening

What a great night. Well done to Lou and all the team. Thanks to all the band members for the generosity of their time and envious skills. Great musicians, great music.There were some great costumes with Pat and Allison being a special treat! A lot of people had gone to a lot of trouble and effort (in more ways than one) which all went to making a very memorable evening.

Relay for Life 2010

The relay at Penguin was a little damp, but this did not stop us from having a good time. Thanks to Lion Rod and Judith for the yummy scones on Sunday morning and to all the Lions and Ladies that put in over the year to help raise all that much needed money, which goes to a very worthy cause.

Christmas Carols

This years Christmas Carols were the best yet and was a great credit to Lion Lou Manson for all his hard work in arranging the event. Thanks must go to all the Lions that helped set up the hall, cooked and served on the BBQ ( even though a few patrons were a bit impatient for their free sausage), sold raffle tickets and lights and helped with the tidy up after the carols ( although at one stage it would appear Lion Lou would have that all to himself). The carols themselves were great and the crowning glory was Brett Budgeon who received a standing ovation and even went on after his stint to sing a couple more songs, after some crowd encouragement. The Crescendo Choir and the Latrobe Federal Band performed magnificently once again and M.C. Lion Lou was at his crowd pleasing best once again.

Xmas Party

The annual Christmas party was once again a big success if you can judge success by the amount of smiles on the kids faces. A big thank you must go out to Gina O'Connor without who Santa's sack would have been very empty indeed. Also thanks to all who helped on the day on the BBQ, serving, washing up cleaning up and all the other chores. And it appears age doesn't stop you from wanting to sit on Santa's lap.

Family Fun Day

A great day was had a Camp Banksia on Sunday 8th as we served up 500 sausages to the hungry masses, as well as handing out about the same amount of cans of cordial. What a fantastic event and great organisation by the Camp Banksia crew.

Movie Night

36 Lions and guests (more guests than Lions) turn up to have a few sandwiches and drinks at Cmax cinema on Thursday night to watch the movie Balibo. Lions Denzil and Jeanette did a great job organising the night, but if we can not get more Lions to these events, I am afraid they will not go ahead. The movie was very confronting and powerful to say the least. To think this went on only 24 years ago. The movie was worth going to just for the fashion, stubbie shorts and thongs.
